Train ride to Northern Thailand

We left Bangkok at 8:30 for Chiang Mai, it was a grueling 15 hour ride, thruareas that looked like Plank Rd, then it changed to lush mountains, the we broke down and sat there for a few hours. They didn't tell anybody anything, the train engineers were all outside looking at the drive wheels of the train. A new locomotive came later and pulled us the rest of the way to Chiang Mai. Tomorrow we will be heading into the jungles and mountains to the northern border of Burma. We plan to ride elephants and backpack thru the jungle, go rafting in the jungle for a few days. We probably wont update this for a few days. see you then
